Don't know your code? It is printed on the old cartridge and usually on a label inside the filter compartment. Match that code to the codes above — this page covers only the cartridge named in its title.
Certifications — documents and listings
- NSF/ANSI 42 — certified by NSF International. Reproduction of the certification document
- NSF/ANSI 53 — certified by NSF International. Reproduction of the certification document
- NSF/ANSI 401 — certified by NSF International. Reproduction of the certification document
About these links: Reproduction, not the certifier's live listing: this link reproduces NSF International directory entries checked 2026-09-30. The live NSF International listing checked on 2026-11-05 did not name this cartridge.
A certification counts as listed here only when a certifier's listing names this cartridge or its system. Anything else is labeled above as what it is — a manufacturer's statement or a reproduction. See how to check a cartridge in the NSF listing.
Verdict
Bottom line: The genuine Filter 4's certification is reported by a reproduction of NSF directory entries checked 2026-09-30 but was not verified in the live listing checked 2026-11-05, so treat it as unverified and check any cartridge in the live listing under its own code before you buy it.
Reported via a directory reproduction, NOT verified in the live listing: a reproduction of NSF International directory entries checked 2026-09-30 reported the genuine Filter 4 cartridge under Whirlpool Corporation systems W11256135 and W11311161 for NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and 401, with EDR4RXD1 named as a replacement element — but the cartridge was not found in the live NSF International listing when it was checked on 2026-11-05, so treat the certification as unverified until a primary listing names it again.
The drawback: Capacity is not a flat 200 gallons: in the reproduced NSF listing the same cartridge is rated 200 gallons in a system with a filter replacement indicator (PID) and only 100 gallons in a system without one, so fridges without an indicator get half the rated life. It is also a 6-month cartridge, so the cost repeats twice a year.
Genuine vs third-party notes
Genuine cartridges come in everydrop by Whirlpool packaging and replace UKF8001. A third-party cartridge that claims the same standards should name the same certifier and a listing that names its own replacement element — a logo on a box is not a listing.
No specific third-party cartridge has been checked for this page yet. When one is, it will be named here with its own listing check and a dated price.
